The day my world stopped...
December 13, 2011 (Tuesday) started out just like any other day. I woke up to start my day with the littles. I had been spotting (brown) since Sunday night and the DR said as long as its brown its okay and not to worry about it. Well back to Tuesday, still spotting but nothing major. Well as my morning progressed, the brown turned into streaks of red. Called the DR again and he wanted me to come in for an ultrasound. After rearranging my schedule with the littles, I went in for an ultrasound hoping that everything was okay and I could at least see the sac and maybe a little bean. Ultrasound tech called DR into the room. Couldn't find anything in my uterus...NOTHING! Looked at my ovaries and tubes and there was "something" that was measuring at 5w1d. Dr told me to go get a beta and see what my numbers were; either I was miscarrying or I had an ectopic pregnancy. Beta came back at only 5000...should have been in the millions by now!
So it was confirmed...I was having an ectopic pregnancy. DR wanted me to get the Methotraxate shot before my tube ruptured and then I was left with only one tube and I would have to have surgery. So Tuesday evening I went to get the shot after questioning, maybe they are wrong. Maybe there is a little bean in there but its just slow growing. But after thinking rationally I knew there was no other way and there is no way in HELL I wanted to risk my tube rupturing and that becomes life threatening. So after going through that procedure on Tuesday, about 12 hours later the shot had started to work and I was losing our little bean.
As of today, its been a little over 2 weeks and it has taken me about 3 days to get this blog officially wrote. Every time I start to blog I start to cry.
So the plan right now is to figure out where my cycles are (again), take some time to emotionally heal, and work on losing weight (again). After the DR gives us the okay to start trying we will not be using OPKs, temping, or really trying until Aug 2012 or so. We will be NT/NP until then.
