What you need:
- scrapbooking paper (2-4 sheets depending on your design)
- hot glue gun (i used glue dots instead)
- paint
- elmers glue
- clothes pins
- cardstock
- letter stickers
- picture frame (11x14)
- small crayon box (16 or 24 count)
I painted the clothes pins first because I knew it would take awhile to dry and they would need a few coats. I used the ones made from bamboo, only because they were smoother and they were the ones that I had at home.
After painting the clothes pins with one coat I started working on the actual picture frame. Because the scrapbooking papers are 12x12, you will obviously have to cut them. I used the cardboard the came with the frame as a I guide. I used tape to stick the 3 pieces together.
After the frame was together I took a piece of cardstock and wrapped it around the crayon box. Gluing around the whole box. (if you brush on the glue it doesn't leave ripples on the paper)
While that was drying I put the background into the frame and added the sticker letters on the glass of the frame.
When the crayon boxes were dry I added them to the glass of the frame with the glue dots (permanent). And because I thought they needed something else I added the words "YUM" to each of them.
Clothes pins got 2 more coats of paint before bed and were added to the frame with the glue dots in the morning. I just have to make the choice cards to put into the boxes for the week. I might even write the days of the week on the clothes pins but I'm not sure yet.
I love it!! That type of project is also on my list. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to do mine though.
